Finally beat the game today...sad it's over

Postby ribbed19 on 08.06.2009, 01:08:21

Just got to watch the ending credits, and wow, really enjoyed the game, despite a few annoyances here and there it was just an awesome experience and congrats to the team for making a great game, and hopefully a good buck

these are the major issues I noticed that I wanted to point out for consideration in future games

1. That near-end battle with the waves and waves of enemies with the portals....not very fun
2. Areas of the game that have alot of the same enemy over and over and over is too monotonous (ex: rats in rat cave, various caves with small emerald spider packs, grohlm packs in gruldur)...epecially with the animals it takes forever to kill a pack, loot it then skin each one for materials....variation on the enemies in different areas would really really add alot to the game
3. give us more to do with materials we pick up, i'd say like 70% of the items you pick up are used in crafting but you don't really end up using 90% of those because there's just no point...I made use of some recipes for alchemy, and made some arrows and bows with bowyer, but I ended the game with stacks and stacks of 100 of almost every material with nothing really to do with them

that's it, everything else I loved, for those 3 complaints, there are 300 praises I could mention!!

Congratulations man
Don't be sad there's always next time (with a new character)
Not to forget the prequel

As much as I liked Drakensang mountain the end battle was kind of a letdown (well really most boss battles including the dragon where kind of boring as you really didn't do much, just spam one skill and keep drinking potions or applying fire balm)
The only ones I really enjoyed were Mother Ratkinsi (at low levels of course) and Gastan Gamblack (without sneaking of course) as they were really intense with multiple enemies requiring a lot of preparation and proper strategy (and also annihilating the praiots camp if that counts as a boss battle  )

Also in relation to your comments
1. Agreed
2. I don't think looting and skinning should be counted as that task alone takes more time than the battle and well you do have a choice not to loot (Yes I know WE HAVE TO LOOT EVERY CORPSE but you must fight the urge man) other than that Agreed
3. Agreed (It would really be fun if playing a Alchemist or a Trapper actually had some incentive with much more recipes)
