@Farflame : Sorry for not answering this, but I simply have no answer for your question.

I might look into my box about Dwarves and Elves, but I'm not sure I understood your question correctly ?

@Virmor : The Drakensang games take place in rather "light" prts of Aenturia. The game "Demonicon" will take place in the Blck Lands = nowadays "Shadow Lands", and this will be definitively much, much darker ... Even "Satinav's Chains" will possibly be darker ... Although I'm not 100 % sure about it. But the screenshots I have seen so far don't look as "light" as the Drakensang games at all to me, personally.
Apart from Moorbrige. This is imho the far darkest place from both games.

I'm planning on replaying Realms of Arkania and the Blade of Destiny manual mentions that after the disappearance of Emperor Hal, Amene III of Horasrealm became Empress of Middenrealm. Is there more information on this? The wiki aventurica entry on her is rather... vague. I thought Rohaja was crowned Empress of Middenrealm in 1022 BF (apparently Amene died in 1028 BF)?

Well, I dont see Royo as some "dark" artist.
And I dont think that TDE is some lighter fantasy world. Look at the history. TDE/Aventuria is feudal-like world, low-magic fantasy world and world of 12 gods/churches. Feudal-like world is hardly light, on the other hand some "inspired" churches (like brave/honest Rondrian saints) can be hardly described as power-hungry or hypocritical religious organisations. The world has BOTH light and dark sides and places. Borbarad crisis is indeed dark part of history, but the whole world wasnt consumed by heptarchs, right?

BTW it starts to be overused and shallow term - dark. It feel nowadays like "good vs evil" (dark vs light).

The question is - which dwarf and why murdered another dwarf in Xorlosch for the first time? I just know that it happened in time when Calamane was banished from Xorlosch with his tribe because of Ordamons crown he stole.

Its mistake of creators (RoA is really old), or mistake of eng translation. After Hals disappearance Amene III took the opportunity and crowned herself as empress of new Horas empire. Not Middle realm.
Rohaja was crowned in 1029 BF. Her brother Selindian Hal was meant to be the emperor, but Rohaja fought for the throne with Answin in 1028 BF instead of him. The same year some concil was held which resolved the dispute between brother and sister and other matters in the empire. As result Rohaja became the empress.

Too short. But I believe it will be above average adventure. TDE lore is great bonus for me.

What is the moving eye? Creation of developers or could it be something from lore?

Demonicon - Well, given the nature of Black Lands, Witcher-like story or atmosphere is good goal.
I still have some doubts about quality of NPCs, lore, choices (two options in choices often tends to be too forced, or some black-white nonsense which is NOT choice at all - IMHO) and big doubts about combat and quality of writing, but it could be decent game.

-----------
Few questions:

- How the medieval system works in Middle realm? See this - some count in Kosh dies and he has no family, no brothers. Who will appoint new count there? It should be probably Kosh prince from Angbar, his feudal lord, but its known that at least once in history it was the emperor. Growin was given the title of count of Ferdok by emperor Brin. Was Growin's case an exception?

- What happened to Lariel, one of defenders of Tie'Shianna in Khom desert? When Kazak captured Fenvarien, did his hordes kill or capture Lariel? (before the story of Philleassons Secret take place)

- Regarding Borbarad - was Borbarad revived in 1016/1017 while Rohal was dead? Its said that they both can't live without the other. There is info that his spirit returned, it only needed some body. So Rohal's spirit may be wandering somewhere too?

The main character in Demonicon isn't very appealing to me, I wish we could create our own character.

Anyway, check out this link (scroll all the way down): http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://hg101.kontek.net/arkania/arkania5.htm

It has a list of canceled TDE games below, and one I never heard of before, called "Rastullahs lockenpracht". Anyone know more about this title?

It seems they designed the hero like some Witcher-like killer (without hair). But as a man who made pact with Thargunitoth he should look mad.
I have feeling that combat will be more of boring clickfest and dialogues too short and simple, but story and world may be ok. The backstory about fate of brother and sister is imho good and interesting. Simple quest to kill big boss would be boring cliché that would kill whole Black lands setting. This way it seems much more emotional, tragic or fatefull. I would probably write story with some similar elements if I would be scriptwriter of this game.

For example: its much better than Risen 2 story concept. At the start of Risen2 you are told about great prophecy and saving the world from Titans so there you go to find The Weapon. OMG. The world is vamped up from old Risen and new copy of Pirates of Carribean. So while gameplay may be ok (combat?), I dont find story and world much interesting.

Rastullah... Anyone can continue the project :D

BTW there is some lore discussion in Ulysses forum. It seems that most people dont come here anymore. :-(

I haven't heard or read much about Risen 2 story, the game's pretty much a blank slate for me and I like it this way. I'm looking forward to it; it seems the game is falling a bit under the radar too.

Gamersglobal tested Demonicon already: http://www.gamersglobal.de/angetestet/demonicon?page=0,1

According to them, the game has a good protagonist (which I wouldn't expect from the screenshots, tbh), good setting and choices & consequences, but mediocre combat.

Actually, looking at that Rastullah game screenshot, I think they might've used the same engine as the game Neverend from Mayhem Studios.

Virumor: well, that preview is just a glimpse of some pre-alpha version.

But it seems there is only a few interesting RPGs ahead. Recently there came (or will come) mostly "not my cup of tea" titles or generic flashy "awesome-smash-action" crap (Kingdoms of Amalur) or generic non-flashy clickfest crap (Dragons Dogma). So in this competition Demonicon start to rise as one of the few interesting RPGs in next 12 months (along with Game of Thrones or Dishonored).

BTW: I wonder if creators of Demonicon or Chains of Satinav will incorporate some small hint towards events in Drakensang (Dragons Quest). It would be nice addition.

Im not interested in MMOs. Almost all MMOs are basically big arena for grinding and looting with endless respawn. I like depth, interesting NPCs, good lore, atmosphere, tactics, item using, puzzles, social and non-combat skills, thinking about the choices and the world etc.

I dont like simplistic design, flashy "cool" nonsense pushing into your way, clickfest stupidities, nonsense swordfight, spamming of skills and quick cooldowns, laughable fountains of blood from simple cuts (and brainless heroes who are unable to wash themselves after fight), boss battles with childish "spiderman-like" moves and stupid enemy AI, nonsense world design with tons of enemies lurking around poor villages, stupid people spoiling atmosphere, generic fedex quests, nonsense action superheroes, generic stories about unity of people vs big evil etc... 8)
