First of all - thanks for a great FAQ! It cleared up a lot of questions I had which were not properly explained in the game manual or by the in-game tips.

I have a question about combat in the later part of the game. It seems to me that the melee system breaks down when both combatants are experienced fighters with AT/PA around 19. It would seem, from your description, that the combat would be an almost endless series of: hit succeeded.. but opponent parried. Only critical hits or misses would cause any damage. Or if multiple attackers gangs up on a single target so he runs out of parry attempts. Is this correct?

I must say that was an awesome FAQ Roban :jubilate:
Even though I was quite familiar with most of the rules it helped clear up a lot of doubts
Great work

I hope members read these "must-read" FAQs before going for posting any silly questions.

The FAQ states it's not worth raising PA above 19. But is this really true?

Enemies use special skills like Feint/Lunge/Mortal Blow, each of which gives the defending character a penalty to PA that can go up to 8. So to counter this, isn't it worth raising PA above 20 anyway? For instance, if you have a PA of 27, you will always parry a mortal blow unless you roll a 20?

Also, isn't it worth it raising the AT for ranged combat above 20? Since there seems to be a penalty to ranged attack depending on the size of the creature.

Numbers so high become simply unrealistic within the world of Aventuria. Becoming legendary as a let's say "sword master" doesn't happen often. This is not (A)D&D where people become insanely powerful. This is a rather low-magic environment, with relatively few magic and even less masters of things.
