Interesting enough, as I said, I dualed some opponents "one on one" and always succeeded some parry checks on rolls that that would be impossible if shield parry value wasn't used (which in my case was higher then one used by weapon parry).

I will try to check on this issue during the weekend.

And: Yes, of course I meant "2nd parry can only be shield parry"

Can you explain some about crafting? What a weapon recipe stats say is not what is actually made sometimes, even if you have the correct talent points.

example: orcish composite bow recipe: 1D6+4, actual item crafted is 1D4+4

Can this be explained please

Tooltip error. TDE only uses D6 and D20 (and in very, very rare cases a D3).

In the past "The Dark Eye" use two D10 to get a result from 1-100, too. :)

Yeah.
Damage - D6
Attribute / skills: D20
(AE cost of some things: D6 or D3
random encounter tzable: D10)

That's the basic dice use in TDE.

Ive read evrything, but cant find about max attribute values. For example, my party is lvl 14 now. Both amazon adn dwarf max st and co are 21. But for my main character healing mage st max is 15.
So i wonder how stat max are calculated or defined.

MAX attribute = starting value x 1.5

... and if the result is odd, the game will round down.

Example: Dranor has CO 11 x 1,5 = 16,5

Instead of having Max-Attribute 17, the game will limit to 16.

I have a 2 questions about willpower checks against the wounds.
The manual says everytime you lose HP more then the CN value you shoudl take a wound but instead you roll a dice vs "willpower+10" for a save. This doesn't make a sense. Is it actual "willpower-10"? Meaning 10 is like a difficulty for willpower talent check?
And the second question - is this roll working agains ability wounds? What happens when the ability causes more then 1 wound at once? For example the giant crabs (in Moor marches) - they obviosly have a special attack wich causes 2 wounds. And who from the my group takes the first hit almost always gets 2 wounds. This including the dwarf who almost never suffers from wounds from normal attacks?

Edit: Actually it is the tip which says "willpower +10", I checked the manual again and it says "penalty of 10".

Yes you can ignore wound from two attacks at once.
From same crab, my character with willpower 14 was able to get two "wounds ignored" messages.

If it is a "talent check +x", x is the difficulty, thus the reduction of your TAV.
"Willpower -10" would mean you get a 10 point bonus on your TAV* for the check, because you can substract up to ten from your dice rolls.

Yeah, I know, counterintuitive. Welcome to the TDE rules!

* Not exactly, ofc. Actually your max TAV* can never be higher than your regular TAV, since the unused excess bonus points will be discarded. So if you have a TAV of 5 and make a check -10, you can never have more than 5 TAV*, even if you roll 1-1-1.

Can I increase my stats above max with spells/magical items?

Yes, max attributes only apply for increase via AP.
But all related calculations for max TAV and abilities will always use your natural attribute value.
(So you can't just push your IN from 15 to 20 with magic to be able to increase your "survival" skill from 18 to 23)

Willpower of 30 and minus the-10 penalty......does this mean that the only way to get a wound is to roll a 20?

Please clarify something about the attack value please. I got a little confused mainly because the abusive number of abbreviations in the game :D
So:
When you say it is useless to increase you attack value (for a certain weapon) to more then 19 which attack value exactly it is? Is it which is named AT in english version and is in the right of the general weapon skill value? And which cannot be more then 5 ponits then the PA? It it is logical to be this one but just want to be sure.
And if it so then you achieve this AT value then it should be useless to activate offensive combat, right?

I think the answer is "no". Becasue you roll 3 attrobutes not 1. So it depends on the value of those attributes. In the above case you simply have a reserve pool of 20 points. So the max value for all the 3 attributes is 3x20=60. Minus 20 points makes 40. So if the total sum of the three attributes is 40 or more the answer is "yes" - you will get wound only if you roll crit failure. But if the total sum of the attributes is less then 40 then the answer is "no".

No. TDE skill checks always relate to 3 attributes. For willpower it should CO, CO, ST (?). So Drakensang will roll 3 twenty sided dice and check your attributes. If a die roll is higher than your attribute value, you use talentpoints from your TAV to reduce the die roll down towards the value of your attribute. All unused talent points at the end of the check are called "TAV*".
A double or triple 20 roll is always a failure.

Nevertheless, a TAV of 30 for willpower (which is impossible in Drakensang) would mean a nearly 100% chance for sucess if yourchecked attributes are at least somewhere above 10.

With "AT value" I mean the final AT/PA stats with your wielded weapon. If you got AT/PA base 9 and a TAV swords of 20, distributed 10/10 on AT/PA, your final AT/PA values will be 19/19. Increasing it any further won't give you benefit since a rolled 20 is always a failure.

And if it so then you achieve this AT value then it should be useless to activate offensive combat, right?

Indeed.

The only situation were you can benefit from higher AT/PA values than 19 are enemy spellcasters and status effects that reduce your AT/PA values. But this situations are quite rare, so wasting AP for your weapon skill beyond AT/PA values of 20 makes no sense.

BUT:
These situations would be the ones were you might want to think about activating off or def combat once more...

Except you got a weapon and/or shield which reduce(s) your AT-value.
