Murder of a Deont *spoilers*

I activated this quest after successfully completing the Tallon crypt quest (and talking the necromancer out of the fight) and then successfully "fast talking" the second deont by the Apple Tree (right by the Dwarven ballista and the lab). I'm supposed to find the remains of Hesperia. I've searched the Abandoned Ore Mine and the Stinking Caves but haven't found anything. The quest tells you that the remains are in a cave "near by". Has anybody found the remains?

Also anyone know what the key found on the red skeleton in the Abandoned Ore Mines is used for?

The remains of Hesperia can be found in the abandoned ore mine, at the end of a side tunnel. It's the one that leads from the cave with this spider basin.

The key was meant to open a door on the way to the necromancer's lab, but obviously doesn't do anything.
